the beast

she was torn between the pull in her heart; the piece of her that yearned uncontrollably to be in his arms, and her head that always told her to be good. It was the rational part of her, the part that informed her voice to resist the urge to scream with the wildness inside herself.
She feared that one day she wouldn't be able to hold the beast within and it would emerge with intense animalistic passion, clawing viciously at anything that acted as a barrier to the raw flesh she wished to devour hungrily.
Once the beast was subdued, would he lie beside her, tangled in her naked flesh, purring softly in tune with her rhythmic breath?
Curled in each others bodies, fitting together like jagged puzzle pieces, and moulded into one picture perfect moment?
Would he whisper stories of the past and the stars and Shakespeare to calm her ever wild spirit?
Would he smile wickedly at her once more, before he eagerly consumes her entirely?

She repressed the wild roar inside herself and ignored the growing sensation that surges through her limbs to reach out and snare her prey, as he walks unknowingly past.

Today it is her head that wins. Today.

the road-trip that was

there was adventure.
there was vintage stores, and roller skates. there was mushroom coloured dresses, high heeled shoes, and thomas hardy books that smelt old and amazing and like the best of summer, and thunder storms all rolled into one. there was hours in cars riding up and down the coast, then there was camping in the fields. there was forgotten tent poles and tents hung from trees and exceptionally cold feet. there was broken cameras and baby blue wrens, that whistled and chirped and sang songs against the blue backdrop provided by my car.
there were apostles, not quite twelve of them. there was salada crackers, more long drives, and there was laughter amongst the sun. there was short hikes to falling waters, juice boxes and silly stories. there was alphabagetti, and oops cooking on electric barbecues by the beach. there was icecream phish and roaring waves and starlit skies. there was dedications on the radio to two girls serenaded by triple J lullabies, sleeping in their car by the beach.
There was more op shops, and amazing trinkets, and cassette tapes of music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. there was george michael, and in car dancing.

Then it was over, and there was only fun memories, and the thrift store goodies.

There was smiles and there was friendship. always friendship.

Mr De Backer - The wonderful Wally of Gotye =)

Once upon a time, there was a magical man named Wally. He created the most amazing music hiding away in his hotel rooms, with old records, a laptop, the most random assortment of any instrument he could get his hands on, and of course his most wonderful voice.

And so Gotye was created.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Sunday night I headed out on the town with miss Sally to the forum. I had never been to this venue before, and i fell in love. It's roof is painted like the night sky (and of course the nerd in me went straight to harry potter It's bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it, in "Hogwarts: A History.")
Anyway, as much as i love Harry, its completely off topic.
I have seen Gotye play several times before, and Wally play even more with his band the basics. sure, there may have been some 18 year old band stalking going on with me, Sally, and a few others, but really it was ok because we became friends with the band (thanks to sally and her bonding over the red headed gene via myspace!)
It's been a few years since I had seen Gotye play, and he really didn't disappoint. I fell in love with him and his music all over again. He told us he was battling a chest infection on the night, and you really couldn't tell. his voice was as eargasmic as always, and he put 110% into his performance. There was animations and lights and instruments galore, and he was amazing and down to earth with the audience.
All I can say is that Wally, you amaze me :)
And this song never ceases to make me want to get up and have a bit of a boogy (which is currently gaining me strange looks as I am in the library at uni, with my bright blue ear phones procrastinating over assignments yet to be completed. Nope, stuff those, Wally takes precedent! aaaaaaand cue boogy!)
Have a listen for yourself, and get those hips a shakin!
Much love, Ruby xox
