My insatiable apetite for travel has grown over the last few weeks. Whilst I am finally settling in at work and finding my niche working with high risk adolescence (such incredible kids, with such traumatic histories), I still can't help my mind wandering to the great unknown. I still yearn for travel and working in communities who have fewer oppotunities given to them. The government here can provide and fund for so many opportunities for the kids of Australia. Now I want to be able to provide opportunities for those else where. Combine my desire for social work with my ever growing desire for travel.
I have been reminiscing so much lately on the adventures that I have already been blessed to experience.
I have been busy making plans to explore and travel the world next year and have begun my savings to do so. I will explore the US, and live and work in Europe for some time before spreading my winds in South America and spending time in the communities which I so desperately want to do
I think it's time to get out and experience the joys of the world again and try new things.
There is nothing quite like an adventure...

seeking my inspiration once more
Wow,
So it turns out my new years resolution of blogging more was a fail. here we are 6 months down the track and I have not once sat down to write a blog. I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it. Rather I was uninspired to write anything. The big dramas in life got in the way of my creative side this year.
The big things in my life revolved around job hunting, which resulted in a pretty spectacular job working with high risk adolescence, which as you can imagine takes its toll on you. Other things involve the divorce process happening between my parents and the affect that has had on my family... as you can imagine, all of these things have left me little time to dream as I would normally. It has left me little time to seek creative nurturing, and I have come to realise that now is the time I need it most. A dream to escape and seperate myself from the harsh realities of my work and those things in my personal life that I find painful.
With winter drawing in closer the rain has awoken me once more. Those who know me well, know that the rain is a source inspiration and where I feel my soul become cleansed. I am suddenly rebirthed and contemplative and the dreaming washes over me. The raindrops greet me and kiss my face like a lover whilst the wind wraps me in it's arms like an old friend and I am suddenly home.
Let me share with you what inspires me right now.
Blessed be xox

three cheers for new beginnings!
Happy new year to you all! :) Wow, can you believe that it is already 2013? I sure can't.
This year is bound to be full of new adventure for me. Not necessarily the adventures that I had planned (but really, planned adventures aren't always as fabulous as those that you find unexpectantly), but full of the possibilities for adventure!
Originally I had planned to save up money like mad, and bugger off overseas where I can spread my wings, and live like the gypsy I had always wanted to live like (with many more showers though) and embark on what was sure to be the beginning of the great love of my life, a big wide world to roam.
HOWEVER, as always, life takes an unexpected turn. My little sister has just gotten engaged, and has asked me to be her bridesmaid. Amazing really, so in no way a terrible turn. Just an unexpected one.
So I will ofcourse be sticking around to help her out, and soon after the wedding in just over a year, I will take flight on my original course (life pending).
I am a big believer in everything happening for a reason, so it appears, that for the time being, I am in the right place, the place I need to be in.
SO - all of this has made me contemplate what the year ahead might look like now. First and foremost it will be about getting myself a full time social work job. With a year to gain experience, this is a biggy. I am exceptionally nervous about it though, being that it seems to be the final fronteer of becoming an adult, not something I am necessarily keen on. (you know, aside from moving out of home, which I do often when I move overseas each time anyway, so atleast I will get an opportunity to do some serious savings this year).
Secondly, I am making it the year of Ruby. This year I want to take more time for myself. Sure it sounds like every other new years resolution that people make, lose weight, get fit, blah blah blah. But I am not looking at it that way. I am looking more at my mental health, take yoga classes, meditate, do more of the things I love like photography, camping. If I am able to get into a 9-5 job (lets see how that will go...) I will have weekends suddenly freed up (that never happens for me!!) and can whisk myself away with my new swag (thanks santa!) and my camera and explore and immerse myself back in nature.
Also it means no more night time work either. Wahoo! think of the time I can spend now reading books (other than text books for uni) and spending time with friends over coffees, and time for bubble baths, and general RnR that I never used to have time for.
Corny really, but its those small things that I am seriously looking forward to.
I will also be embarking on another blog type adventure with my sister. She wants to start blogging about lingerie and swimwear for every body type, so this will be a new venture to tackle I suppose. Let's see how that pans out!!
I wish you all a wonderful new year, and amazing adventures that the year has to bring :)

Here is a little song to start you off for the new year, I know I love it!!

a thousand regretful apologies!
I must apologise for my recent neglect over the past few months. Unfortunately I have had a severely hectic time!!
Basically to fill you in, in a nutshell I have completed my university degree, and graduated, and have been stuck waitressing through the busy holiday period. I would like to think that cramming and stressing to graduate is an acceptable reason for my neglect. I do have some things I would like to share within the next few days, and start up my blogging once more, if of course, you will still allow me to do so with all of my recent blogging failures!
Much Love

neglected apologies
It appears that my nelgect for this page has continued for longer than I would have hoped. My life has been hectic to say the least - having come back from living in the Philippines trapsing across Europe visint long lost friends and penpals (you can read about it all here), coming home to uni, placements (I am now working with people who have experienced sexual assault or domestic violence), writing research papers, putting my waitress uniform back on on nights and weekends, working within turbulent family dramas and just trying to adjust back to a new world. Not to say that Australia is new to me at all, but after coming back from living in a developing country, I have come back with new eyes and new perspectives which make it hard to fit exactly where i once did.
Needless to say I have been ridiculously busy... and for this, I am sorry.
So please accept my token of apology with this song. It makes me happy and feel free ...That and Lisa Mitchell is pretty much amazing. just saying.

let's shape human history together!

This is something that is so important, and it is an invisible issue. I will be in Spain to partake in this, and I will be doing my part.
Please join the fight for peace!
This video is only 30 minutes, and it's life changing.
