wild with wanting

Sometimes she has imagined what it would be like to fly, to live in the river, to run like a horse. She has dreamed of that freedom, that power, and fears the wilderness in herself that wants to live as beasts live, moved purely by need and desire. She has felt torn between the heat of her limbs and the thoughts in her mind telling her to be careful and good and always calm. Don't scream or cry, don't run to him and throw yourself at his feet, pleading for him to take you in his arms, don't strip off your clothes and run naked to the water, wild with wanting.

I love Francesca lia block. everything she says i feel is so relevant and poetic, and it sparks my imagination.

I have decided i am going to create some of my next photographic projects to be based on, inspired and ignited by the words of the lovely francesca lia block.

Love Ruby xo

it was her freedom

...and in the morning she was gone.
It was a surprise to everyone around her.
She had overcome immense hardships in such a short timeline.
it shook them all to their core.
It amazes me how the soul knows when to flee it's shell of bones and blood, it's cage of flesh.
The soul knows when it's had enough.
"It's time", it whispers to the heart.
"It's time. you fought so well and you fought so bravely.
It's ok little one, I understand."
and with a single sigh, escaping her lips her whole body became relaxed.
she closes her eyes and smiles - in that moment she becomes free.

noah and dylan and harry - OH MY!

the month gone by has been so jam packed with absolute fun (which is a nice change throughout my normal monotonous weekly schedules). to begin i have been to see the most marvellous harry potter. those who know me well, can attest to my complete and utter devotion to all things harry potter. some may say it goes beyond obsessive, but i say its just enthusiastic! it is a mixed bag of emotions surrounding saying goodbye to harry for the last time on screen. its the end of a wonderful era. i could talk more about it, but i may just cry. (remember...enthusiastic, not obsessive :P)

then there was my wonderful week in singapore, just beautifully relaxing, nice and hot, and being able to catch up with my dad. it was perfect.

The next man on my agenda is of course the most marvellously funny Dylan Moran. A comedian like no other. perhaps it is part of his irish charm. His show was more amazing than i could have hoped for, and just what the doctor ordered - as they say, laughter is the best medicine.

My final man to speak of isn't soley one man, it is the wonderful band Noah and the Whale, who came into town and i was lucky enough to get tickets to. They played a truly amazing set, and in my mind i could insert the delightful vocal stylings of the lovely miss laura marling at times. i think i am in love with another band. it's a flaw in my character. woops!
